Find your Tubeless Size
The correct Tubeless insert size is the same as the tire size.
Tires usually have dimensions written on them. Take a look on the side of your tire. You need to look for the two numbers with an "x" in the middle.
The appropriate size of Tannus Tubeless corresponds exactly to the size of your tire and all tires within the indicated size range.
Example: Tubeless PRO 29" x 2.10"- 2.60" is suitable for both 29" x 2.10" and 29" x 2.60" tires as well as all the tires included in this range (29" x 2.20" ; 29" x 2.40"; ect.)

NOTE: Tannus Tubeless inserts are for Tubeless tires and rim only
Prepare your tubeless set-up by installing the rim-tape and valve according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure you are familiar with setting up tubeless tires before proceeding with installation.
1. Install the first bead of the tire around the rim
2. Be sure to align the tubeless notch with the valve
3. Install Tannus Tubeless under the tire and inside the bead of the rim
4. Push second bead of the tire inside the bead of the rim
5. Complete your tubeless setup by adding Tubeless sealant
Recommended sealant quantity per tire:
LITE: ~ 60 ml / PRO: ~ 120 ml / FUSION: ~ 250 ml
6. Inflate tire using a pump or air compressor and check for leaks
How to install Tubeless Insert
Recommended Pressure
Tire pressure is a personal preference depending on size of the rider and riding conditions. However, adding Tannus Tubeless does allow you to run lower pressure which gives better control, and comfort. We recommend starting out 0,1 - 0,5 BAR lower than what you normally ride and go up or down from there based on the riding feeling.
Most common questions about Tubeless
Tannus Tubeless is an insert that sits between the tire and the rim. It offers puncture resistance, comfort, and enhanced riding capabilities.
Tannus Tubeless is made of a patented material called Aither. It’s a high quality foam-like polymer that offers vibration damping, a smoother ride, and puncture resistance.
Tannus Tubeless is made up of three different inserts.
TUBELESS LITE version is suitable for road bike and gravel bikes
TUBELESS PRO version is suitable for XC, Enduro MTB
TUBELESS FUSION version is the combination of LITE and PRO and is suitable for DH and ENDURO
There are 2 kinds of Tubeless inserts:
• Inserts positioned in contact with the rim
• Inserts that float inside the tire
Inserts that grip firmly to the rim dissipate impacts directly on the rim. This leads to greater breakage of the rims than if inserts were not used. They also make riding seem "boring" for many cyclists. Lastly, they are usually VERY difficult to install.
The downside of "floating" inserts is that they do in fact provide rim protection, but no ride quality advantages. They are adding weight to your bike, but ride quality is just like a standard tubeless tire.
Tannus Tubeless combines the ride quality benefits of an insert seated up against the rim, but with the weight and easy installation of a floating insert. This is made possible by the flexible "Wings" that allow the insert to sit higher in the tire, but still provide 20mm of rim protection.
Tannus Tubeless does several things, but these are the most important:
Make sure you are using "Tubeless Specific" sealant.
We recommend to use the following quantity of sealant:
LITE: ~ 60 ml
PRO: ~ 120 ml
FUSION: ~ 250 ml
All you'll need are tubeless specific rims and you'll be all set!
You can use any tubeless valves. This is made possible by the flexible wings that create two chambers within the system. You can put the sealant in, and the holes in the insert allow the sealant to pass through without getting stuck on one side of the insert.
As you compress your tire while you are riding, the tire has a rebounding property. This rebounding property 'propels' the bike forward. The Tubeless insert adds an extra rebounding element that adds to the propulsion of a standard tire, making for an even faster ride.
You do NOT need an air compressor most of the time with these! The Tubeless insert pushes the bead of the tire against the rim, so a normal pump usually does the trick in seating the bead!
Unfortunately they cannot be used with inner tubes.
They are completely re-usable! So go ahead and keep them when your old bike sells and you're in the market for a new one!
We like to say that you can "finish your ride" on a run-flat Tubeless setup. This depends on what kind of a ride you are on though. You can go miles on it, but we wouldn't recommend going too far. One thing to consider is that if you do have to ride to the bottom of a trail on a run-flat Tubeless insert Tubeless setup, watch to make sure the tire isn't contacting the frame. The insert may push the tire into the frame, causing it to rub on the frame. Tannus is not liable for any frame damage as a result of riding on a flat tire.
